 gratitude

i think abbie had a very good thought yesterday- don't waste you time being negative. i can't tell you how many people have called after my accident crying because they're so sad for me. you know it does bite that i can''t write or change my baby's bum (actually i'm not minding that one so much) but seriously i am so blessed - i have an amazing husband, three beautiful boys, lots of people who love me, and way too much good food! i could go on and on, but you get the point - if you're feeling picked on just remember how blessed you are. my good friend, rob flygare told me today about a friend who died from a blood clot. at the viewing last night the wife told him - go home and hug your wife and don't worry about the little things.
it's a choice we make - you can let the people you love irritate you or you can turn it around and make everything positive - when your boys mix up potions and trash the kitchen, think how cute it is instead of being mad. when you husband does the dishes wrong just be grateful he did them.

wow. i can preach a sermon even typing with one hand. wasn't i supposed to give you a workout?
i think we're on upper body. i hope so.
warmup and cardio - 20-40 minutes - i just read that 200 minutes is the optimal number per week for weight loss. so that's 40 minutes 5 days a week, but since we do 60 minutes on long cardio days you could do 20 on a couple of weight training days if you want. if you enjoy cardio, more will burn more calories.
you're going to do 12-15 reps of each exercise, go through them all once, then if you have time do a second or third set.

upright row
decline pushup - feet on a step or ball
lat pulldown
frontal raise
seated row
incline bicep curl
tricep dip
plank - hold for as long as you can - 3 reps
outward bicep curl
tricep pulldown - if you don't have a cable machine do a tricep kickback
kickboxing - jab front, jab cross, uppercut
again repeat them all if you have time
cooldown and stretch

love you all - thanks for reading my blog!

 Fun Day

I'm back for the day and got the ok for a fun day. At least a fun day of cardio. Cami says interval cardio day is the workout for tomorrow. 20-60 minutes for the cardio time. I'm always a fan of at least 30 to keep that heart rate sustained for a good amount of time. Mix it up and do something fun. As always I'm voting for a game of tennis.

As for the lady that emailed me wondering what to do about the invading stretch marks. I apologize but my qwest for that cure is still in process. I've only had one baby and so far I've escaped that baby plague but I'm assuming baby number 2 might catch up with me. I've quizzed my doctor and he said when I find something out to let him know so it sounds like the medical profession might not have any ideas yet either. My only suggestion is a dermatologist might have some ideas. I know many times I come across as knowing everything but this is one of those few questions that I don't have an answer to. SORRY!

As for my thought of the day. I've decided that negative people should be shot on sight. I know I have my negative moments but come on. I have this lady I work with and wow I don't think she has a positive moment. I also have a friend that every day every second something crappy is going on. Seriously life can't be that crappy. So for the day I've deciding that I'm through with negative people. Who needs them? What good is being a jerk going to do you? Most of the time it just makes other people mad and you're in a worse situation than before. I've also decided I've got too many cool friends to hang out with than to bother with the negative ones. So bye bye negative people you won't have the chance to hang out with Abbie Anderson anymore. You're off the list!

 missing abbie

i finally kicked abbie off the loop. i had too many complaints about how dry and boring her posts were
actually i'm feeling a bit of pressure, trying to keep up with miss comedy blogger. she left me high and dry, i begged her to keep posting until my fingers healed a bit, but she was so insensitive, she said - i have a life, i've taken care of you for long enough!
you all know the truth that she's an angel and she'll be popping in once in awhile, so all of you who only read for abbie anderson humor will have to keep checking in.
i'm doing okay. i'm officially a druggie. i pop lortab and percocet like candy. my five-year old asked when i needed to eat my drugs. we might need to explain some things to his primary teacher about mom's drug habits.
abbie told me i had to come up with a fun workout since it's a holiday. what is she expecting? pioneer cardio challenge - walk 20 miles in searing heat, without water, carrying your 6-month old on your hip, dragging you 20-month old by the hand and sweetly asking - because i'm sure they never yelled - so kindly begging your other 6 children to keep up and please not run in front of the oxen.
now that sounds like a ton o' fun - but i bet they had tough calves, pity they never showed them to anybody with dresses that came to their ankles - sorry, that was a bit irreverent, blame it on the drugs.

okay, here's a workout you might actually do.
because it's a holiday, let's (did i just say let's, i meant you since all i can do is plaster my widening bum to the couch) anyway, you do legs on wednesday and make tomorrow just a fun cardio day. try an endurance workout - long and pleasant. go on a long, slow jog or speedwalk or bike ride, just try and go early, heat exhaustion isn't too fun.

have a great workout, abbie or i will post a leg workout tomorrow - now you'll have to check, just the hope of abbie has you in anticipation - that sentence doesn't really work, but i don't care, i'm going to take more drugs and watch my backside spread some more.

by the way, abbie keeeps forgetting to remind you if you need exercise descriptions they're on my website - www.camichecketts.com - under the links page.

 So I am popular

Ok so I'm more popular than I thought. I actually had 2 people ask me where my blog is today. Yeah you guys like me!

I've got a good story that I just felt the need to share. Apparently when you lose fingers such as Cami has done they have to usually sow the bad finger to a good artery to feed off that blood supply. I don't know all the ins and outs of it since I'm not a doctor so just go with me on this. Anyway in Cami's case she has her middle finger hooked up to her ring finger to kind of feed off blood and heal. The story I recently heard is awful but in a way funny. My sister in law has a friend that her dad lost his thumb roping. I guess he's a cattle roper or horse roper of some sort and when roping you wrap the rope around your thumb. Somehow it got tangled and he end up losing that thumb. In his case he had to get to a artery that was a big blood supply so they had to connect his thumb to the artery in your upper thigh. It's a big old artery that can help heal that thumb. Now just think about that. You're thumb attached to the inside of your thigh. How does that look? You guessed it, it looks like he has his hand down his pants all the time. Now I'm thinking Cami's situation is a lot better than that. Be grateful Cam it could be a lot worse. I just thought you guys needed a story today for Friday. I hope I didn't gross anyone out.

I hope everyone has a fun and exciting weekend planned. It should be beautiful weather to do something fun outside. I'm playing tennis tomorrow and hoping my game is top notch so I can beat some of my friends. I'm a little competitive but it's always fun to win right? I'm also going waterskiing. Due to pregnancy I won't be skiing but maybe I can talk my brother into pulling me slow around in the tube. At least get into the water. I don't know my pregnant body isn't looking too cute in a bikini right now. That's right ladies wear a bikini when your pregnant. It's hilarious!

As for the workout Cami says we get upper body and intervals. So you know what to do. Do an upper body workout and than in between hit some cardio for 5 minutes to keep that heart rate up.

Lat pull-down
Seated Row
Pushups
Tricep Dips
Tricep Kickback
Bicep Curl
Hammer Curl
Plank

Tune in next week for more Abbie humor.
